This is Mantan Moreland and Ben Carter's "Interrupted Talk" Routine from the movie "Dark Alibi" (1946). They also did it in the movie "Scarlet Clue." They had perfected it as a comedy routine, when they worked together in vaudeville. It was similar to and about as famous as Abbott and Costello's "who's on First Routine."
Introducing Joan Blondell
Переглядів 5 тис.6 років тому
This is Joan Blondell's first scene in a feature film. It is about ten minutes into the film "the Office Wife" (1930). She did three shorts prior to this. Notice that Joan is immediately adorable, sexy (dancing, dropping her pajammas, exercising and taking a bath) and sassy (advising her sister to have an affair with her boss and cracking wise). She immediately establishes a presence and type t...

Convention City Opening Credits Hoax

This video is a hoax. This purports to be the opening credits to "Convention City," a lost precode film that was released in December, 1933. The song "Let's Do It, Let's Fall in Love" by Cole Porter is not listed as one of the songs in the movie. It was the title song in the 1933 movie "Grand Slam" This is a great classic film that really needs to be found. Keep searching. Here's a list of the ...

What Memories, unless you had bigoted parents that taught you wrong this show was the Cornerstone of equality. Today conservatives would call this show woke and DEI driven. It is so sad when we have become.

I am one of the kids they helped teach to read and more. They helped with every day things like mesuring, talking on the phone. And, the most important thing this show did, was not talk down to kids. They would do a skit like the first milkman skit and just assumed all of us would know Bottle and laugh that she could not get it. But, at the same time help those who might not yet be there by giving all the right clues.
